  3. Nice photos, Nate. Hey, could you or Bulletskill give me a rundown on just how the profile selections below work? I don't even know what some of them mean. For now I'm just selecting anonymous but would appreciate any suggestions if it makes a difference. Thanks guys.

  4. Just occurred to me, maybe selecting "Anonymous" makes it necessary to decipher the hard to read word intended to prevent abuse? On the message above, it took me four tries before I finally got one right. That can be a REAL hassle if we have to do that each time we post a comment. I notice that at SKB, I apparently don't have to select a profile. Unless, that is, I did when I joined and it became permanent so that I don't have to do it each time. So, this time I'll try "Open ID" and see what happens.
Oh no, don't think I want that because I have to enter a URL. A What URL? OK, what about "AIM?" Damn, same thing. "Google account?"

  5. Well, same thing happened with the Google account. So, unless there's a way to avoid having to do that every time, I think it's going to discourage some commenting. Why would this be any different than SKB? Aren't they by the same provider?

  6. Phil,

In the profile I just typed my name in name/url and it took it OK -ignore url. I agree though that it's a pain having to do it all the time.

I don't know if you saw that blog on Clint's site where the guy from m/p tried to explain their thinking behind dumping the social side of things. Looks like they're not too popular in the Philippines or Indonesia for doing it - their target market ha ha.

Anyway, all these guys in these photos are hot as heck are they not?!

  7. Yes, all a bunch of hotties. Thanks, Allan, for the suggestion regarding the profile. I'll try that and experiment some more. I'm kinda sloooow catching on to these things. For one thing, I've always thought of the URL as a web address but never knew I had one unless it can also mean a person's email address. Is my email address also my URL? Anyway, I could learn to deal with that inconvenience a lot easier that having to decipher those distorted letters they apparently use to screen out misuse of the system. Sounds like you aren't having to do that extra step. Regarding those, do you know what I'm referring to? You know, those twisted and confusing letters you have to read and type in to prove you're a person and not a robot.

  8. Allan,
No, it wouldn't accept my email address as a URL so I again used my Google account. That had me sign in to Google and then it took me back to the "warning" page here. After clicking OK there, I ended up here again. When I clicked on "Publish" it presenter me with the security check consisting of two darkened numbers in one box followed by the twisted, distorted letters to be typed in another box. After doing that, it posted what I wrote above. Obviously, you aren't having to jump through all those hoops. Maybe the first and more important thing is if you or Nate can tell me what to use as a URL. If it's not my email address, I wonder if I even have one.

Oh, and Nate, I love what I'm seeing of your site so far. Most all of my comments have been related to the technical problems I'm having so once they are resolved, please feel free to delete them all or tell me to delete them so the page won't be so cluttered. For now, I'm kinda just trying to see how things work for me ... or don't.
